Quality Control: Is the crate safe for pet travel

The commercial market contains numerous "airline-approved" pet travel crates, which do not comply with standards to ensure the safety and welfare of pets during air travel. In fact, a great majority of them do not meet the standards of the International Air Transport Association Live Animals Regulations (IATA-LAR), which provides the guidelines for the safety and welfare of live animals during air travel. The insights provided is needed to improve animal safety and welfare during pet travel.

Dr. Bryant has identified multiple areas that must be addressed to ensure the safety and welfare of pets. Her goal is to serve as a consultant to guide decisions to protect pets during air travel.
